Doggy Ji Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Doggy Ji is operated by Fensco Foods, 797 Pradhan Villa, BCCHS Layout, Vajarahalli, Bangalore 560062, Karnataka, India ("Doggy Ji", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use and share your personal information when you use the doggyji.com website and shop and the Doggy Ji mobile app (together, the "Services"), and the choices you have.

Section 1 applies to everyone. Section 2 applies to the website and shop. Section 3 applies to the app. If you use both, both apply.

1. The short version

  • We collect what we need to sell you products, deliver them, and run the app's pet care, Pet Match, chat, blood bank and pet services features.
  • We never see or store your card or UPI details. Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment processors.
  • The app shows no ads and contains no advertising or analytics trackers. On the website, we may use marketing partners, as described in section 2.
  • You can see, correct and delete your data, and delete your app account at any time, in the app or at https://doggyji-mob.netlify.app/delete-account/

2. The website and shop (doggyji.com)

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, billing and shipping address, phone number and email address.
  • Order and payment information: what you buy, amounts, and transaction details. Card and payment details are collected by our payment processors, not stored by us.
  • Account information: your login details and preferences, if you create a shop account.
  • Device and usage information: your device, browser, IP address and how you use the website, collected automatically, including through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Your messages to us: anything you send to customer support.

We collect this directly from you, automatically while you use the website, and from our service providers.

How we use it

  • To take and deliver your orders, process payments, handle returns and provide customer support.
  • To run, secure and improve the website, and to prevent fraud.
  • To send you marketing and promotional messages by email, text message or post, if you agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message or by contacting us.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which hosts our shop, catalogue and checkout. Shopify may use information about your interactions with our store as described in its own privacy policy.
  • Payment processors, to take payment.
  • Delivery and fulfilment partners, to ship your order.
  • Marketing partners, to show you our offers on other websites and apps, where the law allows and subject to your choices.

3. The Doggy Ji app

Your account

  • Name, email address, username and profile photo. To create your account and show your profile to people you connect with. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google.
  • Email codes. When you sign up or reset your password, we email you a 6-digit code to confirm the address is yours. These emails are sent by our email provider, Brevo.
  • Your public profile: your display name, username, city, bio, badges (such as the playdate badge), Instagram handle if you add it, your pets and the photos you post. Other app users can see it.
  • Your city. To show nearby pets, clinics, pet care providers and blood donors. You can type it, or let the app detect it from your location.

Your pets

  • Pet profiles: name, species, breed, birth date, gender, weight, photos, personality, vaccinations, health records, allergies, medications and blood group. To run the pet care tools (reminders, vaccine log, feeding), Pet Match and, only if you choose, the blood bank.

Location

  • Your device's location, only while you use a feature that needs it (Pet Match "Nearby" and detecting your city). The app asks for permission first, and you can say no.
  • A pet's Pet Match location is rounded to about 1 km before it is stored, so other users never see your exact position.

Pet Match, chat and friends

  • Your pets appear on Pet Match by default, visible to other app users: name, photos, breed, age, personality, what they are looking for, and your city. You can hide a pet at any time in Pet Match → ⋮ → My pets; its matches and chats are kept. Your likes and passes are stored so matches can be made.
  • Messages, friend requests, blocks and reports. To deliver chats, keep you safe, and let our team review reports.
  • How private your chats are. Chats are encrypted while they travel and in storage, but they are not end-to-end encrypted: they are stored on our servers in a form our systems can read (this is also how we show you message previews in notifications). We do not read your chats. An authorised member of our team may look at the messages involved only if you or the other person reports a conversation, or if the law requires it.
  • Deleting messages: you can delete a chat or a message for yourself, and delete a message you sent for everyone within one hour of sending it.
  • Chat images are deleted automatically after 24 hours. You can save an image to your phone before then.

Talking to Doggy Ji

  • The Doggy Ji chat in Messages is how you reach our team. Your messages, and the topic you pick, are read by our support staff so they can help you. Deleting the chat in the app removes it from your view only; our team keeps the conversation so we can follow up. Deleting your account removes it.
  • Offers and announcements. We may send you offers (sometimes about a product) and news in the Doggy Ji chat and as notifications, to everyone or to users in your city. You can turn these notifications off in Profile → Notifications; one-to-one messages from our team still reach you.

Blood bank

  • Donor registrations: your pet's name, species, breed, blood group, city, area and photo. These are shown to other users looking for a donor. Your name and contact details are not shown in the donor list. When someone raises an SOS, the app alerts you and you decide whether to respond. Someone looking for a donor can also message your donor listing directly; that starts a chat with you, and like any chat it shows them your public profile. To limit misuse, each user can open chats with only a few different donors an hour.
  • Your phone number as the donor's emergency contact. It is never shown to other users; our team may use it to reach you if someone needs your pet's help and asks us to call.
  • Blood requests (SOS): the pet, blood group, hospital, city and how urgent it is. To alert suitable donors nearby. A donor you alert can open a chat with you straight away, and their answer ("I can help" or "not available") is shared with you.

Lost & Found

  • If you report a pet lost: your pet's name, species, breed and photo, the city, where it was last seen and any details you add. Signed-in app users in that city get a notification, and every signed-in user can see the alert in Lost & Found for 14 days and message you about it. You can mark your pet found or close the alert at any time; our team may close alerts that are fake or offensive. Your phone number and email are never shown.
  • You can turn off notifications about lost pets near you in Notification Settings; the alerts still appear in your inbox.

Clinics and blood banks you suggest

  • If you add a vet clinic or blood bank, we keep its name, address, phone number, opening hours and Google Maps link, and which account suggested it. After our team checks it, it is shown to everyone in the app. These are business listings and stay in the directory if you delete your account.

Pet care services

  • If you apply to be a provider: your name, city, area, bio, experience, services, prices and photo, plus identity documents (such as Aadhaar) and police verification you upload. Documents are kept in private storage that only our verification staff can open; they are never shown to other users. Once approved, your provider profile (not your documents) is public in the app.
  • Bookings: service, date, time, quantity and any notes, shared between the customer and the provider.
  • Reviews: after a completed booking you can rate the provider and leave a comment. Reviews are public on the provider's profile with your first name and your pet's name.

Orders in the app

  • Checkout and payment happen on Shopify's checkout page, shown inside the app, as on the website. If you pay with UPI, the app hands the payment to your UPI app. The app never sees or stores your card or UPI details.
  • To show your order history, the app receives your order details from Shopify: items, amounts, name, phone, email and delivery address.

Notifications

  • A push notification token for your device (Firebase Cloud Messaging), so we can send chat, match, booking, SOS, order delivery, lost pet and support alerts. The token belongs to whoever is signed in on the phone. You can turn off announcements and offers, order updates and lost pet alerts in Notification Settings, and all notifications in your phone's settings.

Crash reports

  • When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics records the error, your device model, operating system, app version and your app account's ID (so we can see which account a problem affects). We use this only to fix bugs.

Usage statistics (only if you agree)

  • The app asks once whether we may count which features are used (for example "a pet was added", "an order was placed", "a lost pet was reported"). Nothing is collected unless you say yes. If you agree, Google Firebase Analytics records these events with your device model, app version and approximate country, under a random ID that is not your account. It never records your name, messages, pets' details or location, and it is not used for advertising (the app does not use the advertising ID).
  • You can turn it off at any time in Notification Settings → Usage statistics; turning it off also deletes what was collected on that phone.

Stored only on your phone

  • Your cart, wishlist, pinned chats, language choice and cached data are kept on your device. Your account's data is cleared from the phone when you sign out.

Camera and photos

  • The app opens your camera or photo library only when you choose to add a photo, and uploads only the photo you pick.

Who the app shares data with

  • Supabase: hosts the app's database, sign-in and file storage. Servers are in Mumbai, India.
  • Brevo: sends the sign-up and password-reset code emails.
  • Google Firebase: push notifications, crash reports and, only if you agree, usage statistics.
  • Google Sign-In: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Shopify: the catalogue, checkout, payment and order records.

Other app users see only what is described above as visible: your public profile, your pets on Pet Match, donor listings, lost pet alerts you post, provider profiles and reviews, and messages you send them. Our staff see what they need for their role (for example support messages, reports and provider documents), and the changes they make are logged.

4. How long we keep it

  • We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the Services and your account, to comply with the law (for example, tax and accounting records of orders), to resolve disputes and to enforce our terms.
  • Chat images: 24 hours.
  • When you delete your app account (Profile → Delete Account, or our delete account page), we remove your profile, pets, Pet Match listings, likes, chats and messages, your Doggy Ji chat, friends, blood donor registrations, lost pet alerts, notifications, bookings, reviews you wrote, provider profile and documents, photos, and your login. Some records are kept without your name, because others rely on them:
    • orders, which are sales records kept by Shopify and for tax purposes, are unlinked from your app account;
    • past blood requests are kept as an emergency record, with your identity removed;
    • reports you filed are kept for moderation, without naming you.

5. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other laws that apply to you, you can:

  • see the personal information we hold about you, and correct it (most of it can be edited in the app or your shop account);
  • delete it: in the app, Profile → Delete Account, or on the web at https://doggyji-mob.netlify.app/delete-account/ (sign in and delete, or send us a request); for the shop, contact us;
  • withdraw consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from marketing, turning off offer notifications, turning off usage statistics, turning off location, hiding a pet from Pet Match or leaving the blood bank;
  • nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to;
  • raise a grievance with us (below). We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may ask an authorised agent to make a request for you.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (all connections use HTTPS) and encrypted at rest on our providers' servers. It is not end-to-end encrypted, including chats (see section 3). The app's database only lets each user read and change what they are allowed to, identity documents are in private storage, and staff access is limited by role, with every change staff make logged. Direct access to the database is limited to a small number of authorised people and used only for the purposes in this policy. No security is perfect, so we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed without permission.

7. Children

The Services are meant for adults (18 and over), and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Other websites

Links to websites we don't control are not covered by this policy. Please read their own privacy policies.

9. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. We will post the new version, update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email.
